Arnt Sorheim teak sideboard c.1961(RESERVED)

Product Description

A very special and exceptionally rare teak sideboard designed by Arnt Sorheim for Brodrene Sorheim of Norway.  This one owner from new example (purchased in Leeds in 1961 – see original receipt) is in wonderful original condition with only very light signs of age – with a rich depth of colour and grain.  We have lightly cleaned and oiled the sideboard and it presents beautifully – on very, very close inspection there is the odd surface mark and ding and a tiny nibble to one of the solid teak draw fronts to the left hand bottom edge but nothing significant – the piece is in wonderful original condition given it is almost 58 years old.  Complete with original keys, fitted interior, sliding felt lined tray to the top drawer and brass cap feet.  A wonderfully executed design that is beautifully crafted using lots of solid timber –  I cannot find another example currently for sale online. A very rare opportunity, highly collectable and produced in very modest numbers with outstanding provenance.

157cm length x 81cm height x 44.5cm depth

Matching extending dining table and four chairs (purchased at the same time) also available.
