An absolutely breathtaking mahogany sideboard that was commissioned c.1959 and beauitfully crafted by a highly skilled cabinet-maker in the south-east of England. Now fully restored and presents beautifully. Put simply this is one of the finest pieces of mid-century furniture I have ever handled – constructed almost entirely from the most incredible solid mahogany with fabulous attention to detail – the cupboard doors are covered in a pinstrip mahogany with a repeated motiff of spot and strip along the top and bottom edge in contrasting sycamore. All the drawers are constructed from solid mahogany with handcut dovetail joints and finished with solid mahogany turned handles. Fabulously styled with striking proportions with an Italian flavour but distinctly British this is a stand out, totally unique piece of outstanding British design and craftsmanship.
