Indian laurel and walnut sideboard by Peter Hayward for Vanson c.1957

Category: .

Product Description

An absolutely lovely restored example of one of Peter Hayward’s most commercially successful designs produced by Vanson from circa 1957 until the early 60’s.  Most commonly seen with a mahogany top and sides this example is finished in a rich walnut veneer with a contrasting front in a richly figured and coloured Indian laurel with all solid brass detailing.   Its a wonderfully proportioned and extremely elegant 50’s design.  The cupboard doors open to reveal a single full depth, fixed shelf, whilst the top drawer features partitions with brand new black felt.  In lovely restored condition with just the odd mark and ding that can only be seen on very, very close inspection as the rich colour and grain is very forgiving.

160cm length x 51.5cm depth x 85.5cm height
