Robin Day ‘Leo’ armchair and footstool c.1965 for bespoke upholstery

Product Description

A fabulously styled and rarely available ‘Leo’ armchair and footstool designed by Robin  Day for Hille in 1965 for bespoke upholstery.  The quoted price includes all new foam, webbing, labour and upholstery in a selection of 100% British wools – please contact us to discuss your requirements.  The Leo chair (with the rarer flat metal chromed sleigh legs as per this example) famously appeared in the Sean Connery James Bond movie You Only Live Twice in 1967.  An incredibly stylish chair with its sharp angles and low profile and along with the footstool its very, very comfy.  You can buy reproductions of this chair and stool that will cost between £2500- £3500.  This original example is therefore exceptional value.  All chrome work will be fully polished and does show some signs of light pitting and wear commensurate with age.

75cm wide x 84cm depth x 78cm height, 38cm height to seat / Footstool 55cm x 55cm x 38cm height
