A super design by Robin Day for Hille c.1965 – this Nimbus armchair is incredibly stylish and very comfortable fabulous as either a dining or desk chair. Constructed from a moulded polystyrene foam shell that is very strong and incredibly light these chairs where produced in low and high back versions (this is the lower back version) with and without the lower back ‘vent’ hole and with a variety of leg designs so they could be utilised in either the home or office. We have a set of four of these chairs – sourced complete with original brown tweed upholstery (see last pic) we believe these examples date to the mid 70’s – the chairs ceased production c.1979.
This example has been fully reupholstered with all new foam, and finished in a grey 100% wool mix weave by Abraham Moon with polished tubular steel legs and new plastic feet. Interested in the set – please contact us. We can get these chairs upholstered to your own specification. Please take note of dimensions – these are generously proportioned chairs.
63cm (at widest point of arms) x 58cm depth x 81cm height / Seat measures 45cm wide tapering at the back to 39cm x 45cm depth / Height to seat 47cm.
