A stunning set of eight ‘Hamilton’ rosewood dining chairs by Robert Heritage for Archie Shine c.1957 sourced from the original owner who purchased this set in 1958. An incredibly elegant, subtle and under appreciated design with the solid rosewood turned legs that are splayed to the rear and the carefully angled seat back and base that is extremely comfortabe. The price is for a set of 8 as per this example that is finished with a two tone soft touch grey 100% wool from Abraham Moons ‘Distinction’ range with fully restored frames, all new webbing and foam. Fabulous natural variation in colour and grain to both the solid rosewood legs and rosewood veneered seat frame that is elegantly curved and shaped to both the front and rear face. One of my personal favourite British chairs of the period and scarcely seen in rosewood – restored to this standard this set is a stand out piece of British mid-century design – elegant and effortless. These chairs are offered for sale as a bespoke upholstery project – please contact us to discuss your requirements.
