Walnut cabinet by Robin Day for Hille c.1954

Category: .

Product Description

An absolutely lovely little Interplan cabinet designed by Robin Day for Hille in the 1950’s with a pair of sliding doors finished with the signature recessed handle with a backplate  in aluminium and finished with black enamelled steel legs.  This example is veneered in a rich walnut and has been fully restored and given a soft sheen, UV resistant and maintenance free lacquer finish.  The back is also neatly finished so this could be used as a free standing piece. On very close inspection evidence of some previous historic restoration and veneer wear but the rich colour and grain is very forgiving –  the piece presents beautifully.  The interior is missing its original single, full length shelf but this could easily be replaced if desired.

91.5cm length x 70.5cm height x 45.5cm depth

Matching larger sideboard (also in walnut but with rosewood sliding doors) and cupboard with shelves and glass doors coming soon.
