An outstanding and striking piece of post-war British design by Howard Keith that is exceptionally difficult to source and highly collectable – this very rare ‘Fanfare’ chair was one of the largest wingback chairs produced by HK furniture and shouldn’t be confused with the smaller and relatively common Viking and Comet wingbacks from the same period. The ‘Fanfare’ has an incredible profile with its flared seatback, top-heavy wings, angled armrests and splayed, tapered beech legs – stunning from every angle. The combination of a seat that subtly tapers from the front to the back and the large wings and angled armrests make this chair exceptionally comfortable – it literally hugs you!
HK furniture produced chairs and sofas of the very highest quality retailed at Heals and Harrods that fused striking design with traditional techniques and craftsmanship. Constructed on a solid beech frame (its very heavy) this chair has a fully sprung seat and back. The wonderful splayed beech legs have been stripped and will be oil finished. The price includes all new foam, labour and 100% British wool upholstery of your choice – please contact us to discuss options. A very rare, simply stunning and exceptionally comfortable chair that once fully restored will be a real statement. Matching pair available.
